API 1104 covers the gas and arc welding of butt, fillet, and socket welds in carbon and low-alloy steel piping used in compression, pumping, and transmission of crude petroleum, petroleum products, and fuel gases. and, where applicable, welding on distribution systems.
This standard (code) also covers acceptance standards applied to production welds tested to destruction or inspected by radiography and in service welding.
